Looking For Allergy Relief? Try These Tips!

Posted on May 28, 2018March 28, 2019 by louisedelia

If you’ve ever had a nasty cold, you know how uncomfortable itchy eyes, constant sneezing and coughing can be. It may be a surprise to you that a lot of people with allergies have these types of symptoms regularly, especially during the changes in season. Learn how to battle the things that trigger your allergies with the tips listed in this article.

People’s tolerance to allergens changes as they age. For instance, food allergies are prevalent in small children, who are just getting their first exposure to different foods. As they age, they may become tolerant of some allergens, and can become sensitive to new ones as they are introduced to them. If your son or daughter appears to show signs of pollen or spore allergies, be sure not to disregard the possibility of an allergic reaction just because there were no previous signs of a problem.

Keep yourself hydrated if you want to alleviate bronchial allergy symptoms. Your mucosal membranes can become irritated if you aren’t getting enough water. When you do not hydrate yourself enough you affect your bronchial tubes by having them produce mucus that can annoy you.

If you are dealing with troublesome allergies, then pay attention to the time of day! Pollen is most oppressive between 5 and 10 o’clock in the morning, and therefore you should try not to be outside during that block of time. If you have to go out, try to keep your time outdoors brief.

If you’ve tried a couple allergy treatments without success, don’t give up. In addition to oral medications, there are many other forms that can offer a reprieve from your allergic symptoms. You might try eye drops, a nasal spray, or get a prescription from your doctor for leukotriene blockers.

If you have the same symptoms from your allergies, it might be better so simply address the symptoms rather than completely trying to avoid allergic reactions. Ways to accomplish this are to carry drops if your eyes are always dry, or wear a nose strip to bed every night if evening congestion is a problem. Someone with a scratchy throat might want to have lozenges at the ready.

The location and time of the day you exercise can be a trigger for allergy symptoms. As you work out, you breathe more heavily than normal. If you exercise indoors during times when pollen count is at its lowest, you will reduce the amount of allergens entering your body.

If you are taking any kind of allergy medication, whether prescription or not, be sure to talk to a medical professional. You want to make sure you are doing the right thing and that you don’t harm your body.

Staying away from the things that cause you to have allergies is an option, espeically if you have a food allergy. It can be harder to manage allergies affected by pollen or pet dander though. Remember the tips laid out here, so that you no longer have to deal with those symptoms.
